House Panel Passes Plan to Consolidate Teacher-Training Programs
The House of Representatives' Committee on Education and the Workforce last month approved a measure to consolidate funds from several programs for teachers' professional development.
The Republican plan passed by a vote of 27 to 19. All of the panel's G.O.P. members approved the bill, along with two Democrats, Reps. Tim Roemer of Indiana and Rush Holt of New Jersey.
