House Panel Gives NEA and NEH No Increases
The House Appropriations Committee voted last week not to increase the budgets of the National Endowments for the Arts and Humanities next year.
The action came one week after the Senate Committee on Appropriations voted to give each of the endowments $1-million more for fiscal 2000. The endowments for the arts and humanities are receiving $98-million and $110.7-million, respectively, during the current fiscal
