House Panel Endorses Distance-Education Bill
A House of Representatives subcommittee approved a bill this month to make it easier for some distance-education programs to offer federal financial aid, despite strong opposition by Democratic lawmakers who said that too many restrictions would be lifted.
The subcommittee on postsecondary education of the House Committee on Education and the Workforce passed the bill, H.R. 1992, on a voice vote. The bill must be considered by the full committee before the House can vote on
