House Hears Ideas for Campus Safety
In contrast to a U.S. Senate hearing last month, a House of Representatives hearing on campus safety last week included little mention of potential changes in federal privacy laws in response to last month's Virginia Tech shootings.
Instead, the hearing by the House Education and Labor Committee stressed the need for better mental-health services and threat assessment.
Last week's discussion came three weeks after a Senate hearing in which several witnesses criticized provisions
