House Committee Passes Tax Break for Private-College Prepaid Tuition
The House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee last week approved a new tax break for prepaid-tuition programs for private colleges. Tax benefits now available to state prepayment programs would be extended to private-college programs, allowing families to prepay tuition and to receive a discount on charges.
