House Committee Approves Bill to Reauthorize NIH
A U.S. House of Representatives committee approved a bill last week that would set budget ceilings for the National Institutes of Health and authorize the reorganization of its sprawling bureaucratic structure, the first such legislation in more than a decade.
The House Committee on Energy and Commerce approved the measure nearly unanimously. Before the bill passed, Democrats said the spending caps were too low and sought, unsuccessfully, to raise them. Some Democrats also worried that
