House Appropriations Plan Would Reduce Budget for NSF
AmeriCorps and NASA would see sharper cuts in spending levels
The National Science Foundation would receive a small cut next year, and AmeriCorps and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration would suffer sharper reductions, in a budget plan approved last week by a House Appropriations subcommittee.
The panel's action was the first by Congress on a spending bill for major federal programs that benefit higher education.
