Hostility to Athletes

To the Editor:

"One Ad, 88 Professors, and No Apologies" (The Chronicle, February 16) focused on differing perceptions of an ad in the Duke University student newspaper and racism and sexism in the lacrosse case. ... It appears that a third bias — both subtle and overt — may exist at Duke: against athletes.
