Hopwood Case Becomes an Issue in Texas Gubernatorial Primary
Nearly six years after a federal-court ruling banned the use of racial preferences in college admissions in Texas, the controversial case is becoming an issue in the race for governor.
Tony Sanchez, a businessman who is seeking the Democratic nomination, has criticized one of his opponents in the primary election, Dan Morales, for a legal opinion that Mr. Morales issued on the case when he was the state's attorney general.
