Historical Accuracy in 'Copenhagen'
To the Editor:
Paul Lawrence Rose ... distorts Michael Frayn's Copenhagen in just the way he argues the play distorts the historical record ("Frayn's Copenhagen Plays Well, at History's Expense," Opinion, May 5). I agree with Rose's contention that playwrights have an obligation to represent historical figures fairly when they put them on stage, but this obligation extends to historians discussing plays as well.
