Higher-Education Group to Shut Down
The American Association for Higher Education announced last week that it will close its doors at the end of May, disbanding an organization that has been an advocate for the scholarship of teaching and learning for almost 40 years.
The survival of the nonprofit organization had been in question for the last couple of years, said Clara M. Lovett, its president. Since the late 1990s, the AAHE has seen its membership decline sharply from a high of about 10,000 to its current 6,000.
