High Salaries for Those Who Teach in Professional Schools
To the Editor:
I certainly can understand why professors not in professional schools want to earn more, but there are a few factual points that I do not think have been made ("The Great Divide," May 30).
Law, medical, and business students do not generally get tuition waivers or sti-pends, so people going into teaching in those areas often have tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loans to pay off. My understanding is that most Ph.D. students do have waivers or
