High Court Gets Case on Affirmative Action
The U.S. Supreme Court was asked last month to take up a legal challenge to the use of race-conscious admissions policies by the University of Michigan Law School.
Lawyers for a white woman who was rejected by the law school in 1997 seek to have the court overturn a May 14 ruling, by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit in Cincinnati, that upheld the law school's admissions procedures as constitutional.
