High Court Declines Free-Speech Case
The U.S. Supreme Court last week let stand a 2001 ruling that allowed an adjunct faculty member at a community college to sue administrators over his free-speech rights. Kenneth E. Hardy had taken Jefferson Community College, in Kentucky, to court when it failed to renew his contract because he had used offensive words in a classroom discussion.
