Heavenly Honor for Johns Hopkins
Johns Hopkins has joined a celestial club that includes members like the University of Cambridge, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of California at Berkeley. The International Astronomical Union has announced that the asteroid formerly known as 1999 JN136 was rechristened for the 19th-century philanthropist who founded the Baltimore university and hospital that bear his name.
