Hearings on Liberal Bias in Academe

After I read "Pa. Lawmakers Get Mixed Message on Fixing Perceived Liberal Bias in Academe" (The Chronicle, April 7), I thought it was important to point out, again, that the hearings in Pennsylvania arose in response to hearsay. Rep. Gibson C. Armstrong claims that he received complaints about liberal bias from students, but he has never, though repeatedly asked, shared any of those complaints. ...
