GOING POSTMODERN: George E. Marcus admits that some people think he is crazy to leave Rice University, where he headed the anthropology department for 25 years and led a revolution within his discipline. Despite having had "a well-oiled program" there, he says, it was time for a revolution of a more personal nature.
