Head of Federal Student-Aid Office Asks to Stay On
Greg Woods, a former top aide to Al Gore, has told the transition team of the incoming president, George W. Bush, that he would like to remain as the chief operating officer of the Education Department's Office of Student Financial Assistance. Sources close to the transition say the department's new leadership is likely to grant Mr. Woods's wish, at least temporarily.
