Harvey Mudd College Students Explore Ties Among Scientific Fields
Undergraduate education in biology has not kept pace with research advances, according to a recent report recommending that students conduct research alongside faculty members. The report, issued by the National Research Council, also encouraged a more interdisciplinary curriculum in science classrooms.
The report's authors would very likely approve of a science course, "Interdisciplinary Laboratory," in which students and professors conduct experiments that cut across chemistry,
