Harvard to Offer Minicourses to Alumni
Following in the footsteps of other Ivy League institutions, Harvard University has decided to offer free online "course vignettes" to alumni.
"They are not whole courses that would take hours to participate in and prepare," says Franklin M. Steen, the director of Harvard Arts and Sciences Computer Services. "We have described them as tastings, or vignettes. There will be no back-and-forth e-mail interaction, but basically a series of Web and video presentations."
