Lawrence J. Ellison, the chief executive of the Oracle Corporation, will not be giving Harvard University $115-million after all, the Associated Press reports. The billionaire businessman had announced the gift last year, as part of a settlement of an unrelated insider-trading lawsuit, but he and the university never agreed on the terms of the donation. An Oracle spokesman said Mr. Ellison had rethought his plan after Lawrence H. Summers, Harvard’s president, resigned under fire (The Chronicle, February 21).
