Harvard U. to Use Endowment Funds to Raise Spending on Teaching Hospitals
The Harvard University school of medicine will dip into its endowment to increase spending on its teaching hospitals by $20-million over the next five years.
The plan is designed to insure that financial pressures on the hospitals do not harm educational quality. The school's endowment is worth about $1.5-billion.
