HOPE Funds Said to Aid Students and Politicians
Georgia's much-imitated HOPE scholarships make for good education policy and good politics, according to a pair of studies presented this month at the annual meeting of the American Political Science Association.
One study examined the impact of the scholarships -- which pay for tuition, fees, and books for students who graduate from high school with a 3.0 grade-point average and attend a Georgia public college -- on the courses students take in high school.
