Group Sues Maryland Over Desegregation
A civil-rights organization has filed a lawsuit in a state court in Baltimore alleging that Maryland has failed to follow its own statutes and federal laws with regard to its historically black colleges.
The Coalition for Equity and Excellence in Maryland Higher Education Inc. alleges in the lawsuit, filed this month, that Maryland has violated numerous laws and agreements intended to ensure that its historically black colleges and universities can attract students of all races. Among
