Group Seeks to Raise Federal Spending on Education
The Committee for Education Funding, an umbrella group of 100 education organizations, announced last week an ambitious campaign to increase federal spending on education that calls for, among other things, raising the maximum Pell Grant to $10,000 over the next five years.
The campaign seeks to raise federal spending on education to $109.2-billion by the 2006 fiscal year, up from $39.3-billion this year.
