Graduation Rates for Black Athletes Have Improved, Study Finds
Many black athletes are making gains in the classroom.
According to a study by the Institute for Diversity and Ethics in Sport, at the University of Central Florida, the gap between the graduation rates for white and black athletes has narrowed steadily during the last 20 years.
The institute used both graduation rates calculated by the Education Department, and the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Graduation Success Rates, to examine cohorts of students who entered
