Graduate Students Who Should Leave School
To the Editor:
"A Week at Camp Dissertation" (The Chronicle, July 16) was dismal. A student's dissertation proposal should be reviewed with care and should, consequently, give the student a pretty good idea of where he is going with his work. A student's dissertation director should not be indifferent; I wonder if that many are, or if Sonja K. Foss is being self-serving.
