Graduate Assistants Strike at NYU

Graduate assistants at New York University went on strike last week, vowing to refuse to grade students or teach classes until administrators agree to bargain with their union.

NYU became the first and only private institution in the nation to negotiate a contract with a TA union when it reached a deal with the United Automobile Workers in 2001.
