The National Governors Association has announced plans to work with five states to improve career and technical education in high school and beyond.
The bipartisan group has selected Arizona, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, and Oklahoma to participate in several policy forums with association and national experts to develop policies to increase the participation in and rigor of career- and technical-education courses.
The measure is part of the governors’ association’s continuing effort to redesign high-school education and better prepare students for both college and the work force.
The project is supported by money from the Ford Motor Company Fund and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. —Eric Kelderman
