Governor's Budget Chief Nominated as Chancellor of SUNY
The State University of New York System announced last week that Robert L. King, the budget chief for Republican Gov. George E. Pataki, has been nominated to be the next chancellor of the 64-campus system, one of the nation's largest.
Mr. King, a former Republican legislator who has never held a leadership position in higher education, is expected to strengthen SUNY's political fortunes while also cementing the Governor's hold over the system.
