Governor Eases Budget Cuts on California's Community Colleges
Gov. Gray Davis of California agreed last week to restore one-third of the $98-million he had proposed cutting from the state's community-college budget.
The Democratic governor signed off on $17-million for scheduled maintenance and $15-million for instructional equipment. The budget had called for additional funds for both needs, as well as $14.9-million for capital projects.
