Government Seeks to Track Research Time More Closely
Colleges should set up accurate reporting systems to track the time that their scientists spend on federally financed research projects, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services said last week.
The proposed guidance, published in the November 28 Federal Register by the department's inspector general, does not specifically suggest that researchers punch timecards or record time worked by the hour, the way lawyers do. But the proposal could be read to require that level of
