E. Gordon Gee announced this afternoon that he would leave after seven years as Vanderbilt University’s chancellor to return to Ohio State University as president, a position he held from 1990 to 1997. Mr. Gee, who has also served as president of West Virginia University, the University of Colorado system, and Brown University, will succeed Karen A. Holbrook, who retired.
