Denmark discovers technology transfer is easier legislated than done

Three years ago researchers here at the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University discovered a genetic test to predict the susceptibility of pigs to E. coli, which kills as many as 450,000 piglets in Denmark a year. In a country where agriculture remains a strong part of the national economy, and where pigs outnumber people five to one, the test should have been a cause for celebration.
