Golden Gate U. Plans Major Cuts
Faced with declining enrollment, Golden Gate University plans to eliminate 40 percent of its degree programs, many of them in the humanities, and concentrate on beefing up its offerings in law, business, and technology.
The San Francisco university, which relies on commuter and online students, says it will lay off 20 to 25 members of its full-time faculty of about 90. Students currently enrolled in the programs slated for elimination will be able to complete their degrees. Philip
