Goddard College Trustees Vote to End Residential Program

Goddard College has abandoned its exploration of possible mergers with other institutions for now. The Board of Trustees instead voted to close the residential program for undergraduates to help stabilize the college's finances.

At the same time, however, the board voted to give a group of faculty and staff members, and other residents of the local community in Plainfield, Vt., until August to come up with ways to keep the residential program going. The board's action came after the
