Giving Power to Professors in Journal Publishing

While much is changing in the publication of scholarly journals, many of the fundamentals remain unchanged. Whether articles appear on line or in print, they still must go through an arduous process of selection and editing. And they continue to count for a great deal in determining who gets hired where, who wins tenure, who receives promotions and raises.
