For a new building for programs in science and mathematics: $5-million from an anonymous donor.

Sandhills Community College. For the Landscape Gardening Program: $225,000 from the estate of Doris G. Desmond and $1.5-million from the estate of Warren Steed.

University of California at Santa Barbara. For the Institute for Theoretical Physics: $7.5-million from Fred Kavli.

University of Southern Colorado. For scholarships: $1.4-million from the estate
