Gift Helps UC-Davis Start Nursing School
The University of California at Davis will establish a new nursing school with a $100-million donation from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.
The foundation will pay the grant over the next 11 years. The school, which will be based in Sacramento and will share resources with the university's School of Medicine there, will be named the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.
The donation comes at a time when experts are predicting a major nursing shortage in the United States.
