Getting a Degree Without Going to Class: Distance Learning and Competency Exams
To the Editor:
At the risk of sounding like some antitechnology Luddite (which I am not), I must state emphatically that on-line, virtual learning most definitely poses a threat to the future of education in this country ("A Virtual Student Teaches Himself," May 7).
