Get Me Rethink! -- the Role of Journalism Education
Some hint of journalism's historic importance to the mission of the university can be deduced from the number of prestigious universities that traditionally neglect it.
Harvard lacks a journalism school, contenting itself with sideshows -- the Shorenstein and Nieman programs -- designed for grown-ups who already understand journalism, to strike sparks with other grown-ups who already understand journalism in an academic environment that doesn't include journalism.
