Georgia Tech Confesses to Violating NCAA Rule and Suggests Penalties
The Georgia Institute of Technology has informed the National Collegiate Athletic Association that 17 athletes who did not meet the association's academic-eligibility requirements were allowed to compete for the university during the past five years.
Georgia Tech also proposed that the NCAA impose several penalties for the violations, including a $5,000 fine and the forfeiture of nearly a dozen scholarships -- four in football and the rest in men's and women's track -- in
