Georgia System Ends Laptop Program With Debt and Claims of Success
The University System of Georgia is ending a three-year pilot laptop program with a debt of $1.5-million. But faculty members and students say the program was successful.
For $24-million, the state bought 8,000 Microquest laptops from the Arsys Innotech Corporation in 1997, and leased the computers for $300 a semester to students at Clayton College & State University and at Floyd College.
