Genetics Research May Slow Without Privacy Protections, Federal Panel Warns

The blossoming revolution in genetic medicine, with its promise for solving scores of debilitating diseases, could be derailed if government fails to develop comprehensive privacy protections, a federal advisory panel warned on Thursday.
