Genetic Analysis Challenges Leading Theory on Human Origins
Scientists have uncovered genetic evidence that may pose problems for the leading model of human evolution, which traces the origin of Homo sapiens to a single area of sub-Saharan Africa.
The results, detailed in the March 16 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, suggest that the evolution of anatomically modern humans occurred after an ancestral African group of archaic humans
