Generalizations About Islam

It is inaccurate and sloppy to say that "the Islamic tradition" has "a different conception of individual rights than in the West -- in particular with regard to women" ("From Tragedy and Bloodshed, Michael Ignatieff Draws Human-Rights Ideals," March 8). ...
