Genentech Will Pay U. of California $200-Million to Settle Patent Lawsuit
The University of California will receive $200-million from Genentech Inc. to settle a lengthy lawsuit that alleged patent infringement involving human-growth hormone products sold by the company.
The settlement, approved in November by the Board of Regents, calls for Genentech to pay $150-million in cash and to donate $50-million toward the cost of a building now under construction on the University of California at San Francisco's new 43-acre research campus
