Gay-Studies Course Is a First in China
The first undergraduate course in gay studies offered at a Chinese university has drawn far more applicants than the 100 available seats.
Sun Zhongxin, an associate professor of sociology at Fudan University, in Shanghai, organized the course, which begins this month. She said it would focus on health, legal, and social issues related to homosexuality in China.
Supplemental funds for the course, provided by the Chi Heng Foundation, would be used to pay for guest lecturers, Ms.
