Gateses' New $5-Billion Gift Makes Their Foundation the World's Richest
The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is now the wealthiest in the world.
The Microsoft Corporation chairman and his wife have donated an additional $5-billion to the foundation that bears their names, bringing its total assets to about $21.8-billion. That infusion has made the foundation the world's wealthiest, surpassing Britain's Wellcome Trust, according to The Chronicle of Philanthropy.
