The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has awarded a grant of about $900,000 to the policy journal The Future of Children, a biannual publication of Princeton’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs and the Brookings Institution.
The award, granted under the foundation’s recently established Post Secondary Education Plus Initiative, will finance four special issues of the journal on topics dealing with disadvantaged youth ages 16 to 26 and their children, said the Woodrow Wilson School in a news release.
The four issues will cover children in fragile families, children and youth in immigrant families, work and family balance, and postsecondary education. Each issue will identify research and policies that could help disadvantaged youth escape poverty.
More information about the journal and related activities is available on The Future of Children’s Web site. —Maria José Viñas
